Where Did We Sit on the Bus?
OCTOBER 2-18 By Brian Quijada
During a third-grade lesson on the civil rights movement and Rosa Parks, a Latino eight-year-old raises their hand to ask, “Where did we sit on the bus?” and the teacher can’t answer the question. This electric one-person-show bursts with comedy, wit, and thoughtful self-examination, Latin rhythms, rap, hip-hop, spoken word, and live looping. Where Did We Sit On The Bus? is a coming-of-age story that examines finding identity in art, family, and culture, and what being Latino means through the eyes of a child, turned teenager, turned adult.
